Scrappy Mountain Range Quilt Finish

Last week we left St. Louis and headed across the plains of Kansas and into the mountains of Colorado. We had a lot of fun. There was a bit of hiking (the kids were whiney), some board games (fun), a morning of snow (super exciting), and lots of relaxing and hanging out together. Just what we needed!

Unfortunately, I forgot to take my recently finished Scrappy Mt. Range quilt with me. The mountains would have made a great backdrop! Instead, you will have to see it against the side of my house.

I finished the top last fall and sent it away to be long arm quilted. I love the design that Jess (Threaded Quilting) used. It mimics the mountains and is nice and simple.

I am really happy with the flannel I backed it with. When I pre-washed the flannel (always a good idea), I threw in some color catchers because I was worried about all that bright pink bleeding, but the color catchers came out as white as they went in. No noticeable dye with over 4 yards of fabric. Impressive! (It was a Robert Kaufman brand plaid and I can't find it anywhere to link to it. Sorry!)

I lowered the prices in my shop last night. The pattern for this quilt is now $6 less expensive. While I think it was worth every penny at the original price, I wanted to put it into the hands of more people and I thought lowering the price would help do that. You can find the pattern for the Scrappy Mt Range Quilt (and 136 pages of foundations!) on my website or on Etsy. You can also save on the Scrappy Geese and Tiny Scrappy Triangles foundations.

So many fun sewing options! But whatever you are working on, I hope you are having fun! Quilting really is the best hobby ever.
